Debt elimination is reactive; Managing a Budget is proactive.
“A budget is telling your money where to go, instead of wondering where it went.”
Knowing what income you have coming in tells you what you can afford to spend. Credit cards are fit into a budget as a way to extend income; they are a high-interest loans of someone else’s money and put adverse stress on a budget.
A regular review of your budget using a written resource is recommended. Apps and other tech are getting better everyday, but I still recommend & use a written budget worksheet placed visibly in the home or office with my clients.
Debt is stressor that many of us have to react to, but with a written plan it can be reduced or eliminated quicker. This means less interest paid and more money stays with your family.
There are two major ideas I emphasize with my clients:
1) The debt plan must be written.
2) The plan must be posted where it can be viewed regularly.
If you never met debt or eliminated it for the last time, how different would your life be?
