Beware the lure of comfort zones

If you get into a comfort zone at work it’s wonderfully comfortable: that’s why we call it a comfort zone! But never resign yourself to it totally for there is a hidden danger.

Unless you remain alert to the shifting sands of internal politics and corporate intrigue you will be lured into a false sense of security; you will think your future is secure.

It will gradually reel you in, leaving you exposed to the trauma of events that will creep up on you unawares, events such as takeovers, bankruptcies, loss of major contracts - the list goes on - most of which lead to redundancies!

Don’t get too comfortable or your career will be stifled and curtailed: stay alert, stay creative and learn how to protect your future livelihood!
